Don't quit! You've come too far and worked too hard to manifest your desires.

Yes, it's hard. Probably, the hardest job you've ever had in life. It is also rewarding if you stick through the hard times, challenges, dismissals, and flat out “no's”.

Research shows that only 2% of female owned businesses receive venture capital funding.  This is a statistic you were probably already aware of before starting and it did not deter you then.

It's also well known that most women use their savings and dip into retirement funds to start their venture.

Your clear vision, solution for the market place, and tenacity led to an entrepreneurial journey. The experience did not come with a guarantee of smooth roads only.

It included pot holes, delays, traffic standstills, and detours.

Ok, so maybe revenue and profit is not where you want it to be and perhaps your bank statements are depressing. It could be that exhaustion has overtaken you from the continuous effort of floating through to-do lists while staying current with market trends.

This is the time to review how far you've come.

You HAD to overcome something to get to where you are now.

The moment you feel like giving up is the moment to celebrate the development of a muscle called perseverance. It's common for fatigue to occur when adapting to a new program or reaching your limit. When this happens, it's important to address your physical, emotional, and mental needs to replenish.

  1. Ensure you are eating balanced diet and stay hydrated.
  2. Engage in exercise and physical activity that serves as a stress outlet and reliever.
  3. Assess your feelings regularly by journaling, sharing with therapist, or trusted advisor.
  4. Make time to quiet the noise around you through meditation.
  5. Count your blessings instead of your problems. Gratitude is mood lifter and provides a greater outlook on life.
  6. Schedule breaks from work.

The rules of business and social media are ever changing, more time, energy, and investment will be required of you. The most important thing you can do is take care of yourself, remember why you started, and recall that Rome was not built in a day.
