Energy, Creativity & Focus…

The three things I need as a creative entrepreneur and CEO.

Yet, let's be honest, if we are running ourselves into the ground and neglecting our mind and body, we can say goodbye to functioning at our most high performing.

For the past few years I've been fascinated on how I can be my best self.

i.e. my most energetic, happy, focused, creative and full of love self.

It first started with learning how to really nourish my mind. During my second year of University, I started to experience the worst anxiety. At the time, I knew nothing about it – I rushed to the doctors, helplessly, asking them to “fix me” so I could get back on with my life.

They did a questionnaire with me, prescribed some drugs and sent me on my merry way. I took them for a few months and then I started to do more research into anxiety, which is when I realized that there has to be a healthier way to resolve this issue.

Fast forward, not only did I really take control of my anxiety but I stepped things up. I wanted to know how I could be training my mind to thrive, not just surviving at a basic level. That's where meditation, mindfulness and personal development came in.

At the same time as working with my mind, I started to focus on my body too. I wanted to know what diets worked best for ME (not just doing things because everyone else was) and what type of workouts my body best responded to.

Most of it was solid research, some testing and then trial and error.

I was motivated to be my best self – I upped my supplement game, I got focused on my goals and then I really started to see the results pay off.

Ask anyone who knows me: they'll tell you I'm a bag of energy (or a “duracell bunny”).

I feel GOOD.

I wake up happy and energized, I work in a focused state and my output is hugely productive. I don't get stressed by the small things and I strive to achieve harmony as best as I can between my personal and work life.

That may seem normal to you, but it isn't normal for everyone.

For a lot of people they aren't even doing the basics to take care of themselves, which if you're on this journey to succeed, I don't think you can afford to ignore.

But look, my high performance quest will forever be ongoing.

I still don't believe I've unlocked my “best” self yet. I have so much work to do.

Right now I'm really interested in nootropics AKA brain enhancing supplements.

I got contacted by a company called Limitless Life a few months ago and they offered to send me their “entrepreneur bundle” of supplements.

Naturally, I was excited but I was also unsure.

We've all tried supplements that promised us the world and delivered very little.

I offered to give them a go, hoping they really would work and set off on my nootropic experiment.

The supplement I was most excited to try is what they call “Mark”, which is designed to boost your focus, productivity and creativity. It comes in three forms – capsules, a drink and a spray.

I was a little nervous in the beginning because I rarely even drink coffee, it gives me an anxious stomach and doesn't really agree with my system too much. To my surprise, I experienced absolutely none of that with Mark.

SO what did I experience with Mark?

Kinda sounds like I'm having an affair here (sorry, Stephen) but bare with me.

It was a very un-intrusive boost of productivity and focus. When I say that, I mean that it doesn't hit me like a ton of bricks, it comes in really smoothly and I find myself getting more and more focused in a really nice, creative and “flowy” way. Does that make sense?

Basically, it worked.

My favorite ways to take it was the capsules or the drink. I didn't use the spray much, as I never really found myself in a position to need an extra burst of focus in the day.

I started with the drink, just sipping it throughout the day and then started using the capsules once I was sure that it was agreeing with my system. I'm super cautious with stuff like that.

I don't use it every day, it's mainly a mid-week thing now. You know when you're starting to feel your workload just creeping up on you and are really determined to crush it before the weekend?

The capsules last about 8 hours and I normally have one mid-morning. The nice thing is that unlike coffee or caffeine supplements, you're not kept awake at night and your sleep isn't disturbed at all.

Okayyyy which brings me onto sleep.

Probably THE most important thing for a healthy mind and body.

I don't know about you but when I'm working on projects that are either really difficult or really exciting, they can tend to keep me awake at night.

I find myself waking up, scribbling down ideas and unable to sleep for excitement.

They have a product called Aurora which is designed to help your sleep serve a deeper purpose. The spray helps you get to sleep faster and deeper and the drink mix keeps you in deep sleep as well as maximizing detox, HGH development and mitochondrial repair.

Mitochondria is important.

The mitochondria in the cells throughout our bodies are responsible for creating 90% of the energy needed to sustain life and support organ function. When mitochondria malfunction, organs start to fail – people get sick, and even die.

If you're anything like me and obsessed with “biohacking” you're probably really used to hearing the word being thrown around.

Back to Aurora – this SH*T WORKS.

Like, it really does. I don't have a ton more to say about it than that – it helps me fall asleep so quickly and I can actually stay asleep – which is a really big thing for me during certain times (ehem launch).

Instead of jumping over to sleep medicines (though I'm partial to melatonin and valerian root with jet lag) I really encourage you to try this supplement and start to get more out of your time asleep.

The final product that they've put together in their entrepreneur pack is Ava. Ava is a mood boosting supplement that supports emotional well being and personal development. I find my moods to be pretty stable and I find it quite easy to relax, so this was a supplement I didn't feel that I “needed”.

However, what I did find when I was testing Ava out was that if I take it and then go move my body at a yoga class or something like that, I am REALLY present and calm during the class.

I know that we all need completely different support so maybe Ava will be your favorite supplement (it's my friends hands-down fav!). I take Ava probably once every 2 weeks when I'm heading to a 90 minute yoga and meditation class and it really makes me feel like I'm getting the most out of it.

If you want to check out the brand just head to their website here.

I would love to encourage you to think about your highest performing self on a holistic level and start to assess where you need more support and consistency.

You should be feeling good every day and you should have enough energy.

If you've got any questions, I'd love to answer them below, just leave me a comment!
